Crumbling chimney crown from freeze-thaw damage
Why it happens here
Braintree Town Center sees repeated freeze-thaw cycles from November through March. Water pools on a flat or cracked crown, freezes, and expands, breaking the concrete apart. By spring, the crown is often crumbling and water is entering the flue.
Our approach
We remove the old crown, rebuild it with chimney crown mix, and slope it so water runs off. We finish with a waterproof coating. Most crown repairs take four to six hours and come with a 5-year workmanship warranty.
